The Pre-Kindergarten program is an advanced Preschool, which will provide a safe and nurturing environment. Children are given various opportunities to develop their creative side, interact with peers, build fine and gross motor skills, foster their self-esteem and work on readiness skills for kindergarten.
Curriculum
The curriculum is carefully planned, taking into consideration that each child has unique needs, interests, and capabilities. The daily schedule includes free play time, circle time, project time and outdoor play. At circle time, children go over the calendar, weather, sing songs, read stories, and share any special news. Lots of indirect learning happens here. Our projects include many art activities, science projects, and even music, movement, and cooking.
Staff
Our program is directed by Department of Early Education and Care qualified staff who are dedicated to the well being and safety of the children. All staff meet or exceed the requirements of Department of Early Education & Care. The staff is composed of college graduates with a wealth of experience working with children. The staff regularly attends workshops and seminars. Each and every staff member is sensitive to the needs of the individual child.
Schedule
The Pre-Kindergarten program follows the Arlington Public School calendar with regard to vacations, holidays, snow days, or delayed openings.
Activities
The Pre-Kindergarten program takes a hands-on approach to learning. There will be many fun activities. Some of the activities include, but are no limited to arts and crafts, science activities, exploration activities, cooking, gym activities, creative movement, computer time, library visits, and more! Parents are invited to visit the program while their child is in class. Confidential conferences are set up during the year for parents and teachers to discuss the child’s progress and development. Any parent may request a conference at any time during the school year.
Registration
Registration is on first come, first served basis. A non-refundable registration fee of $100 must accompany new applications. Department of Early Education and Care forms will be mailed out in early August.
Tuition
Newsletters/ Bills will be sent out monthly. Tuition payments are due monthly beginning August 15th and the 15th of each month thereafter. The Monthly rates are as follows:
5 Days/week $460 4 Days/week $380 3 Days/week $290 2 Days/week $200
The Pre-K program does not bill for holidays or vacation days. However, all other days—such as sick days and snow days will be If for any reason, your child will not be attending class, please call the office. Sick days and snow days cannot be made up or refunded.
