WHAT IS FIDELITY HOUSE? Fidelity House is a non-profit community center that has been serving the needs of Arlington and surrounding communities for the past 55 years! We offer programs for kids of all ages and aspire to fit the many needs of our community. Our programs are designed to offer participants a chance to develop skills while having fun.
HOW TO USE THIS BROCHURE This Fall Brochure includes an overview of what is offered seasonally at Fidelity House and separate brochures describe several of these programs in depth and include registration forms. Weekly newsletters are written September through June which offer the latest up-to-date information on what is going on at Fidelity House and can be obtained at our registration desk or on our website at www.fidelityhouse.org. In addition, the local Arlington Advocate newspaper highlights current information.

HELPFUL FIDELITY HOUSE PROGRAM DEFINITIONS
Preschool, Educational environment that children 2. 9 years – 5 year olds learn to develop their educational, emotional, physical and social skills.
PreKindergarten- More advanced educational environment that children 4– 5 year olds learn to develop their educational, emotional, physical and social skills.
School Age Child Care Program- Structured After School Program offered for youth kindergarten through 6th grade. Program includes coverage for after school hours, days off from school and ½ days. Transportation from local Arlington schools is included.
Open Membership- Encompassing program offered for 2nd graders and up that kids tailor towards their own interests. Youth combine a drop –in recreational experience with structured programs targeted for their own interests and development.

The School Age Child Care Program (SACCP) established in 1984, provides a safe and creative environment for school age children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. The program is fully licensed and follows the guidelines of the Department of Early Education and Care. Parents have the option of enrolling in either our After School Program, our Full Day/Snow Day program or both the After School & Full Day Programs
The SACCP After School Program, started 26 YEARS ago, is based at Fidelity House and FiHo 2. Hours are from 2-5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday during the school year. The program also provides coverage during school early release days. Extended care is available for children until 6:30 pm for an additional fee. The program consists of: arts & crafts, sports, table games, group games, trips, cooking classes and special events. Youth in this program may also register for the age appropriate sports/special interest seasonal programs that are offered during the times they attend. A nutritious snack is served daily. Transportation from several of the surrounding public schools to Fidelity House is available. Brochures describing this program in detail and the registration information are available at Fidelity House. The SACCP Full Day/Snow Day Program We offer Full Day Programs from 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. any time school is not in session. Full Day coverage includes school holidays, vacation days, snow days and teacher conference days. Families registered in this program then have the option to choose which days they would like their child to participate in. Special local trips and special events are planned for those days.
| OPEN MEMBERSHIP Program is offered for youth in 2nd – 12th grades. Members combine an age appropriate drop –in recreational experience with structured programs tailored for their own interests and development.
Scheduled gym time, age designated game rooms, special interest youth programs, a drop-in arts and crafts program, and special events are available. A current membership is required for all drop-in & scheduled youth programs. Members bring cards with them to check in.

Toddler thru 1st grade Age TOT TIME Parents & kids time! Toddler through 4 years olds. Large space to move and interact with others in a fun-filled environment. Parent/caregiver remains with child. Equipment includes a brand new bouncy house, several riding toys, slide and other fun toys. Program on Fridays, 10 - 11 a.m., $3 drop in fee. PRESCHOOL SPORTS Preschoolers 3- 5 years old will be introduced to the basics of sports in a fun way. Different sports are highlighted each week with fun games designed for gross motor skill development, group social skills and physical fitness. Wednesdays, 10 - 10:45 a.m., January 4—February 15, $42 for 7 weeks. Next session starts February 27—April 11, $42 for 7 weeks, $7 drop in fee per class. PRESCHOOL PROGRAM The Preschool, now in its 35th year, is an educational environment that children 2. 9 years through 5 year olds learn and develop their educational, emotional, physical and social skills. Classes are offered weekday mornings from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. or 8:30 - 12:30 a.m. The Pre-School is licensed under the guidelines of the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). Brochures describing our Preschool in detail are available at our office or on our website. Registrations for the 2012-13 school year will take place at the end of January, PREKINDERGARTEN PROGRAM This advanced Preschool program is an educational environment that children 4 through 5 year olds learn and develop their educational, emotional, physical and social skills. Classes are offered Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Registration for 3 - 5 days/week. Brochures describing the program in detail are available at our office or on our website. Registrations for the 2012-13 school year.will take place at the end of January. GYMNASTICS Established program for over 20 years! 3 different classes are offered for pre-school (ages 3-5) on Mondays, 12:30- 1:30 p.m., Thursdays 12:30- 1:30 p.m. or Saturdays, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Kindergarten through 1st grade classes are offered on Saturday, 11 – 12 noon, Mondays, 3 – 4 p.m. or Mondays, 4-5 p.m. Space is limited! Winter session begins January 5 - April 2. Flyers describing the program in detail are available. SPORTS ACADEMY 3- 4 p.m. Game fundamentals, drills & sportsmanship are incorporated into games. Grades 1 & 2 meet from 3—4 p.m. BASKETBALL begins Friday, Jan. 6– Feb. 17. 7 weeks, $42 (includes t shirt) & FLOOR HOCKEY begins Tuesday, January 3– February 14,. 7 weeks, $42 (includes t shirt). ** Please note– Open Membership is for 2nd grade and up. 1st graders requiring care before and/or after the program will need to register for our School Age Child Care Program. Please check with our office for details. BASKETBALL 101- Want to learn the game, but don’t feel you know what you are doing? This is the program for you! Gain confidence in the game, find out how fun basketball is while having a good time! The program emphasizes instruction on basketball fundamentals including dribbling, passing, shooting and defense for 6—11 year olds. 5 week session begins Saturday, January 7—February 4, 11:30 a.m.—12:15 p.m., $25, $6 drop in fee. WINTER SPORTS for LIFE - Fidelity House is offering youth 6—11 year olds plenty of sports action in the large gym during the winter season. Keep active while having fun!! Floor Hockey, Basketball, Whiffleball, Kickball and other games will be played on Saturdays from 12:15—1 p.m., 5 week session begins January 7 - February 4, $25 or $6 drop in fee.

2nd – 4th Graders ARTS & CRAFTS-Free drop-in program offered on Tues., Wed., and Fridays, 2:15-4:30 pm. Recycled materials are used for many of the projects. Donations welcome. TAE KWON DO-CHUNG DO-This fun and exciting Korean Karate class develops self –discipline, motivation and confidence through structured training. Flyers describing the program in detail available in January. NOW UR COOKING- Basic nutrition, utilizing math for measuring ingredients and how to make healthy food choices will be incorporated into this fun course for 3rd – 6th graders. Located at the LARGE, modern kitchen at FiHo 2. Wednesday classes, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Begins Weds, Jan. 11—February 15, 7 weeks. $30 fee. GYMNASTICS - Established program for over 20 years! FITNESS CLUB- Strengthening & conditioning weight training program directed by Tone with Rindone Fitness specialist Joe Rindone. Class options will be offered 2 times a week for 3rd through 5th graders. Parents purchase prepaid cards with 6, 9 or 12 drop in opportunities. Starts January 6.
THE FIHO PLAYERS-The FiHo Players is a theater group that strives to develop a youth’s self-confidence, poise and natural theatrical talent. The area youth, grades 2 & up, learn what putting together a production from start to stage really entails. A Spring musical production will be offered. Flyers describing the program in detail available in January.

Trips advertised in our weekly newsletter and Arlington Advocate. FEBRUARY TRIPS FOR THE OLDER CROWD- Age appropriate winter trips are scheduled for 5th – 8th graders during the February vacation week, Feb. 20-24 Flyers describing trips in detail will be available in February.
VOLUNTEER CLUB- Grades 6-8. This is Fidelity House's Youth Board of Directors. Members help shape the future of Fidelity House, help out with varied activities and plan group trips. Call Fidelity House for more information. FITNESS CLUB- Strengthening & conditioning weight training program directed by Tone with Rindone Fitness specialist Joe Rindone. Class options will be offered 2 times a week for 3rd through 5th graders and 6th graders and up. Parents purchase prepaid cards with 6, 9 or 12 drop in opportunities. Starts Friday, January 6. Membership required. BASKETBALL CLINICS - Tomorrow's Stars will be offering a basketball skills clinic on Dec. 27, 28 & 29 from 9:00 a.m.—12 noon. Boys & Girls 7 – 14 years old are invited to sign up. The clinic will be divided into kids learning skills and games. Registration is required. Sports & basketball clinics will also be offered during February Vacation, Feb. 21-24 Time TBA INTRAMURAL FLOOR HOCKEY LEAGUE – Intramural floor hockey league for 5th – 8th graders. Games played on Friday nights & Saturday mornings. Teams drafted on the weekend of January 6, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m & Saturday, January 7, 10:30 –11:30 a.m. League games begin Jan. 13- mid March. $70. GIRLS FLOOR HOCKEY-- Floor Hockey league for girls in grades 5-8th will begin Friday, January 6 at 7:30 p.m. and continue on Friday evenings at 7:15 p.m. through mid March. Membership and $40 registration fee required. AAU SPRING BASKETBALL TEAMS- Basketball teams for boys & girls are organized for area youth to play in area Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) tournaments during the Spring. Tryouts begin in March. FRIDAY NIGHT VOLLEYBALL– Organized Coed Volleyball games for 5th—8th graders will take place on Fridays at 8:45 p.m. beginning January 6. High school Volleyball coaching staff will oversee the games. Membership or guest fee required.

AAU SPRING HOOP- Fidelity House offers high school players an opportunity to play in A.A.U. (Amateur Athletic Union) area tournaments during the Spring season. Tryouts begin early March. Information about ages and tryout times will be posted on our website and flyers in February. Season starts in March and continues through June. Fidelity House is entering our 12th season of AAU play for the Fidelity House Kings and 8th year for the Fidelity House Royals. HIGH SCHOOL NITES- Periodic Saturday evenings, 7:30-10:30 p.m. Freshman/Sophmores welcome. Membership or $5 guest fee required for attendance. Call for details.

ADULT OPPORTUNITIES MENS' BASKETBALL LEAGUE – Games played on Tuesday or Thursday evenings. Teams/individuals may sign up. Team fee = $700, *$650 if full amount paid before first game, individual fee = $90. Leagues year round. WOMENS BASKETBALL LEAGUE‑ Games played on Monday nights. Teams/ individuals interested, please call the office. Team fee = $550. ADULT VOLUNTEERS- If you are available to help out short term/long term, please call. SENIORS PASS IT ON- Senior Citizens interested in passing on a skill to youth, please give us a call.
