MEN’S BASKETBALL LEAGUE RULES
1. TEAM FEE- $600 due by the 2nd game of the season. If there is an outstanding balance, the team has until the Sunday before their next scheduled game to take care of it or games will be cancelled until balance is cleared up
2. STARTING TIME- Please note that scheduled starting times may vary. A grace period of 5 minutes will be allowed after the scheduled game time. Substitutions are allowed at the discretion of the other team’s representative.)
3. UNIFORMED GAME SHIRTS- All players must wear a shirt with their team color and a number, preferably a Fidelity House League shirt. New shirts are available through Fidelity House for $7.00. A past House shirt with a number and team color are acceptable. Cooperation with this rule is greatly appreciated. It makes officiating and scoring less of a headache.
4. EJECTIONS- A player or coach will be ejected from the game he is playing in, plus one additional game on the 2nd unsportsman-like technical foul. A player that accumulates three unsportsman-like technical fouls may be suspended for one additional game.
a.- Technical fouls count as personal fouls and are counted towards team fouls.
b.- Unsportsman-like foul is defined as a non-contact foul that consists of unfair, unethical or dishonorable conduct.
5. SUSPENSIONS/APPEALS- Any player ejected from a game for any reason will incur the suspension from the current game he is playing plus 1 additional game subject to appeal. If a player is ejected a second time during the season, he is automatically suspended from the league for the remainder of the season. Players wishing to appeal must contact Fidelity House within 24 hours and pay a $10.00 appeal fee. Players winning their appeal will receive their fee back and be eligible to play in the next game. Decision will be made by league commission.
6. GAME TIME- Games will consist of 2 16-minute stop-time halves. Overtime periods will consist of a 3 minute stop-time duration.
7. FREE THROWS- Penalty free throws are awarded on the 10th foul of each half. There is no two shot bonus, only one and one. Free throws may be rebounded on the release of the shot. Since “on the release” is played, there will be no allowance of the block for the 1st defensive player.
8. TIME OUTS- Each team will receive 2 time-outs per half for 30 seconds each. Time-outs do not accumulate. One time-out will be awarded to each team per overtime periods.
9. REFEREES- All referees are professional I.A.A.B.O. board certified referees and should be treated as professionals.
